DJ Shortkut (Triple Threat, SF) & DJ Tashi (Beat Knuckles, Tokyo, Japan)
::SHORTKUT::

No other DJ in the world will ever be a member of the three most innovative and influential DJ crews to ever exist. As a member of the Invisibl Skratch Piklz, Beat Junkies and Triple Threat DJs, Shortkut’s contributions to the DJ world greatly assisted in building this culture into the multi-million dollar industry it is today. His years of musical experience and unparalleled presence in the national and international circuits exemplifies his passion and dedication to a culture he helped create. In 2007, Shortkut celebrated 20 years as a DJ, producer, DJ equipment designer, and battle champion.
Shortkut claimed numerous titles, notably the 1994 and 1998 US/West Coast DMC Championships. He has also been featured in prized national and international publications including Rolling Stone, URB, DJ Times, Scratch, and VIBE.
He was honored with the Grand Wizard Theodore Lifetime Achievement Award in Germany for his contributions to the development of scratching in 2004.
:: DJ TA-SHI::

>>> UPDATE: DJ Tashi will not be performing at The War Room for this event. <<<<
DJ Ta-shi is highly recognized as one of the pioneers of Japanese DJ culture. Starting in 1987, he purchased his first pair of turntables and spun at clubs and roller rinks all over his hometown, Okinawa. In 1992, Ta-shi left for Tokyo to be more involved in the scene, and subsequently won the DMC Japan DJ Championships and competed in the World Finals in London. Ta-shi tours extensively in Asia, opening for world reknown artists like Dr. Dre, Common, Yung Joc, Snoop Dogg, Gangstarr, Biz Markie, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, De La Soul, 2 Live Crew, Cheryl Lynn and James Brown, who gave him a standing ovation at the end of his set. He currently DJs for MISIA, one of the top R & B singers in Japan, performing for crowds of over 30,000 nightly using 6 turntables in his solo sets. Ta-shi balances his pop appeal with MISIA and his true-to-roots residences in Tokyoís clubs with teaching youth at the DJ Academy.
For over 20 years, DJ Ta-shi has brought his versatile style that pleases crowds of all types, incorporating his turntablist roots throughout Asia and the US. When Ta-shi spins, he creates a party vibe that leaves the crowd happy and wanting more.
